A 5-star album, good for collection. It worth spending a whole hour doing nothing but listening to this CD, definitely:) The kinda feelin’ starts from the very first song O’Kay, hahahaha, what a lovely tune. Please allow me to borrow some words from supervictoria64 (from ongoingmelody) | PS: sorry I made some notes just for myself (in orange):)

Review: I was incredibly excited for this release since I am a long-time Emi fan, and I think her first album was amazing. 🙂 (The 1st album was Dramatiques, 2003)The album opens with one of my favourite songs, O’kay. It’s an irresistibly sunny, feel-good pop song with a sugary chorus and super-sweet vocals. It starts off the album on a high note! Music Of Love follows; a sophisticated jazz duet between Emi and SOFFet with urban routes. It’s quite a stylish song with a strong arrangement, slick production, and fantastic dynamics. Emi’s most recent single, Kataomoi, follows. As I have said before, it’s polished, sweet, and warmhearted. Despite the rather sad theme of one-sided love, the song remains bubbly and optimistic throughout. The contrast is refreshing! Koi wa Rirurari is a pretty little mid-tempo pop song with a piano base and light, soft vocals. Emi’s vocals contribute heavily to the direction of the melody, and she takes the lead with confidence. (hahaha, the start bits did remind me the game Final Fantasy) chocolate — a colourful R&B/dance/urban blend — follows. It’s bright, bold, and catchy, lead by charming synths and spunky vocals. It’s very Americanized, but fits in nicely with the rest of the album. Natsu Koi translates to Summer Love (夏恋) and features Ryohei, so… initially I thought it would be a cheap alternative version of her collab with m-flo (Summer Time Love). LOL. As much as I love that song, I think it is time to move on, and I’m glad she has. This song is entirely different — light, breezy, and summery. Ryohei’s deep, suave vocals complement Emi’s high, carefree vocals perfectly. Although the song is weak in places, it pulls itself together. Overall, it’s nice, simple, and enjoyable. GOODIE MEMORIES is an m-flo-inspired mixture of pop, R&B, and hip hop. It’s vibrant and cheerful, yet laid-back. I like it quite a bit, and the little background effects add originality and charm. Get up! is an in-your-face dance-rock-jazz fusion lead primarily by synths and an effervescent bass. Love it! I was expecting Fasuto Deto to be an innocent bubblegum pop song, and it is somewhat that. It’s simple, cute, and romantic. I can’t help but feel the chords are a little… unfitting, though. They sound rather melancholic. Because of that, I don’t like the song as much as I thought I would. Rememer I Love You? Truthfully, I had forgot about it until listening to it again just now. But I’m glad I rediscovered it! It’s a light, summery acoustic track with soothing, laid-back chords and warm, genuine vocals. This is probably one of Emi’s most sincere, intimate songs. Gorgeous! (I really really love love this song, from the single to the album, I listened to it no less than 100 times) Heart feel vacances follows in close pursuit. It relies on a basic guitar melody and Emi’s sweet, soaring vocals. It’s very pretty! Ai dake ga continues the acoustic theme. It’s raw, intimate, and personal. Another hauntingly genuine song that I’ve always had a soft spot for. 🙂 Grow is a somber piano ballad that I just can’t seem to get into. 🙁 It’s the only true “filler” track on the album, I would say. Thankfully, things pick up again with E・S・C・A・P・E — a unique, confident blend of disco, dance, jazz, and pop. It’s bold, stylish, and infectious. I especially love the bridge! The album finishes off with TWINKLE STAR (SHINE ON ME ver.) , a pretty little electronica song with a plunky core and a bubbly vocal melody. It’s sunny, adorable, and a nice way to close off the album. Ultimately, I am impressed!! Emi Hinouchi can do no wrong! XD Amazing sophomore album; just as good as her debut, if not better. Highly recommended!

Buy it here.

About Emi Hinouchi (From wikipedia):

Emi Hinouchi was born in Osaka.
